Shinjuku Gyoen is the representative Japanese garden

It was " Shinjuku botanical garden " in Meiji piriod (1868年 – 1912年), there was big house with big garden of samurai.
These days, It is popular by Japanese people for good seasonal sightseeing spot.
The site area is so big, 58.3 ha, has many kind of area, for example Japanese garden, English garden, French garden, the pond, flower garden, garden house.

Beautiful sakura in spring

In the Shinjukugyoen, a lot of Sakura are planted, 65 types 1300 trees. In the season of sakura about end of March to early April, many people come here to enjoy Sakura picnic.

65 types sakuras are different color and shape each other, you can catch colorful sakura flowers in a finder.
Actually, there is one of " beautiful sakura place top100 in japan " selected by " Japan Cherry Blossam Association ".

However, we can't have fun the right up sakura, because Shinjukugyoen close at 16:30PM.

In Autumn, you can enjoy many red leaves at Japanese garden in Shinjukugyoen.

Beautiful red leaves are casting its sharply definded refrection on the big pond, and there is old architecture and blue sky.

Every season are good season for some plant

Whatever you can't come sakura or red leaves seasons, you can find good other plant.

For example, rose in May, hydrangea in June, and fragrant olive in November.

I recommend you go there as soon as open time or near close time. Especially, the entrance close at 16:00, the after, people are go back without new people.
