Today, I'll talk about the Kyu Asakura House at Tokyo Daikan-Yama. It's important cultual property as old Japanese-style house. You can see splendid Japanese old house like world of Samurai, Kimono, and Yakuza.

What is Kyu Asakura House?
Kyu means old in Japanese. Asakura is family name of owner, Asakura Torajiro.
He built the house in 1919, about 100 years ago.
He was rice dealer and member of parliament of Tokyo.
Roof tile, wood sash, and veranda
It has Japanese traditional roof tile.

The white sliding door is shoji, made of wood and paper, light is transmitted softly.

Japanese botanical garden
The house has big Japanese garden. You can enjoy seasonal flowers or trees. For example, rose bay in spring, red leaves in autmn.
